Video Guidelines
1.Film from "C" - the judge's position2.Arena - small arena is 20x40 meters. large arena is 20x60 meters, arena markers (letters) must bevisible in the video3.Please step back a few feet from the ring so the top of the rider to the bottom tip of the horse's feetare visible at all times4.If necessary, include some zoom when rider is at "A" end of the arena, but should be minimized.5.Actual sound of ride must be included not muted or music dubbed over6.If filming on a smartphone, please film in the landscape orientation Note: The judge reserves the rightto decline any video due to poor quality. Please review your video for clarity and appropriate lightingprior to submission. A request for a new video footage will be sent to the competitor's email address ifneeded.
Rules & General Information: Entries: Mail/Fax/Email entries to SLADS at: Entry forms will be accepted on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of rides available. Multiple rides per entry must be from two consecutive levels. Show management reserves the right to 1) refuse any entry, 2) to make any changes deemed necessary for the safe and efficient conduct of the competition.Show Timing & Results: Entry closing date is May 23, 2021 video posting by May 30, 2021. It will take several days for judge to finish all the tests, the completed tests will be mailed to the secretary for scoring, after which they will be entered in the show software and scanned to be emailed to competitors. Competitors have the option to have tests and ribbons mailed (see entry form). Please be patient as we traverse this new format. Test results will be posted by June 9, 2021. Scratches & Cancellations: Scratches made prior to the closing date will be refunded. No refunds or credits will be made after the closing date for any reason. Awards: Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th place. High point ribbons will be awarded in both western and classical dressage. High point award will be to rider category in each. Classes must have 2 or more entries to be eligible for high point award. USEF rules will be followed regarding tack, headgear, etc. Attire & Grooming: Riders and horses must be neat and presentable. All competitors must wear approved headgear while mounted. Informal attire (including paddock boots and half chaps) allowed. Late Entries: late entries are accepted and will be charged a $10 per class late entry fee. Honesty: The show relies on everyone to be honest and follow standard schooling show rules.
Agreement to hold harmless: In consideration of acceptance of this entry, I agree to hold harmless any directors, officers or members of the St. Louis Area Dressage Society (SLADS) from any claim or loss or accidental injury or death which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to self, child, or horse.
